VITALITY FREE TRIAL IS A **** TO MAKE MONEY OFF YOU VIA DEBIT ORDER

Free month trial is a TRAP for unsuspecting customers. I was FORCED into agreeing to the three month free trial (Sep 2024) . I expected a reminder or some form of communication to be sent to me before the billing started. Suddenly 2 Jan there is a DEBIT order going off INCLUDED with my medical aid premium, so I immediately query the higher amount. I also changed my medical aid to a lower plan, so when they told me premiums in arrears, so new less premium will go off end January, I ask, but still it is higher than my old plan. I get told it is Vitality. I forgot about this stupid free trial because I NEVER used the product. I ask to cancel and they SHOVE the sorry you need to give 30 days notice to cancel. And I dispute that I was not even notified that I will be paying for December I never used it. I called AFTER the debit order went off. I tried cancelling the debit order with FNB app. I get an error that I can only cancel Discovery by calling the Bank. I call the bank - fee for reversal of debit order is R48. Plus they can't reverse a part debit order. So I am stuck because if I reverse the debit order in full then my medical aid will be unpaid and I will be defaulting on that, PLUS I stand the risk of being re-debitted and I will be in a loop. I request a copy of the call record, which they used to DECLINE my back dating of cancellation and I have to fill in another form and WAIT another 30 days. I report to the Consumer goods council, They acknowledge complaint and say they referred to the supplier and I must wait 30 days or more for feedback. Discovery call number goes in a loop if your phone is not recognised when you key in your ID or membership number then cuts you off.
