Vitality and Virgin Active Gym Ripoff Fees

My son and I had joined Virgin Active gym in Rooihuiskraal, Centurion via Discovery Vitality in July 2024. We signed up with Lisibo.

At the time of joining my son was 17 years old. We signed a 1 year contract. He attended the gym for 6 months.

At the end of January 2025, my son turned 18 years old. I was then informed by Virgin Active that the contract is no longer valid, as per Vitality.

I had to re-sign a new contract & pay a new connection fee of R699. R699 despite being a member already?

This is daylight ******* and a ripoff for existing clients. Apparently this is the way Vitality works.

Many other clients too have to pay this connection fee. So both parties benefit, to clients detriment.
