Unfair benefit offered

Dear Discovery,
I have been a long standing member of Discovery and a very active participant in your Vitality Rewards programme. I joined active rewards within days of it's launch and persuaded many others to do the same. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that in spite of my diamond status and reaching a 1200 point weekly target that I would be excluded from gym booster benefit purely due to me having a Premiere membership.

Ironically Discovery's advice was downgrade and we'll pay for it. Considering I go to a gym close to my office on week days and one close to home on weekends it would mean that I would now have to sacrifice some of my training to benefit from a reward that I have earned in every other aspect. Essentially you are incentivising me to workout less, the stupidity of this is beyond me which is further compounded by the fact that a local membership at my local Wembley Square is only R50 less than the a Premiere membership.

In basically I am a committed member who maintains required number of visits and achieves all the goals but is been denied a fair benefit offered to someone who does a fraction of work I do. This grossly unfair and completely unacceptable.

Hello wikid,

Thank you for your post.

Virgin Active Premier and Classic and Planet Fitness National and Platinum members continue to have access to greater savings on their gym memberships through Vitality which improves access to and incentivises a healthy lifestyle.

Although they do not qualify for the Gym Booster cash back, the saving level for this membership type remains unchanged and in many cases is higher than a Club or Local membership which does have access to the Gym Booster.

Regards,

Discovery Vitality
