Status downgrade

I am super disappointed with the Vitality programme. I have been a loyal member for my entire adult life. I bought into the philosophy when it started and have actively lived my life to maximise my status and rewards, by doing all the regular health checks, fitness checks, healthy eating choice purchases, and diligently entering details of races I participated in etc... I have invested a substantial amount of time, energy and MONEY in working my through the ranks. I have been gold for 3 years now and was on the cusp of being diamond. I even changed my car and household insurance over to discovery (at a premium) because I liked the idea of rewarding people for positive behaviours.

In January I asked that my vitality costs be taken off my wife's salary as I was joining her plan as a dependant. I specially asked that my vitality account and number not be changed so that I would not experience any disruptions with my gym benefits or having my points zeroed out. It was confirmed with me that my number would stay the same and no other changes/consequences were ever communicated to me beyond where my fee was being deducted.

I was shocked to then find out that Discovery took away all my points without any warning or explanation. When I enquired I was told that because my wife was now paying my Vitality benefit I was taken down to her status, that one months of points earned would be carried over but all other points were now lost.

Its like asking to open a joint a bank account, but then the bank *****ing all the Money from the richer member. In fact its worse than that because I never asked for a joint account. The call centre agent was unable to give me any reason why this is done or show me where/when I agreed to having all my points taken from me. She was completely unwilling to try and resolve the issue or give me any clarity. I am still paying the same amount and have the same vitality number yet all my hard earned points have been ****** from me with out any valid reason. Why would they not at the very least allow the points to be carried over and if if there is a valid reason why they you can't do that, why on earth do they not bother too communicate that? I have been such a loyal customer for so many years and feel like I am being punished for no apparent reason!
