Please tell your clients the truth
I have been in communication with various departments within Discovery for the past two weeks, as I wanted to get an Apple watch for my daughter who is a fitness fanatic and an active vitality member. I was told by someone in the Vitality dept that the best way for her to get this would be for me to get a secondary credit card in her name . I duly app**** for a secondary card for her, sent through the documentation and the card was delivered today (this is not for free you pay for the card to be issued). When she tried to activate the card, she was told that I have to do this, she was then also told that as she was not yet 21 she would not be eligible for the watch . No one bothered to mention this to me in any of the discussions, they could see our profile on their system and could see her age. I have now paid for a secondary card that we don't need and I was misled by everyone that I interacted with in the last two weeks. I have hunted on the website for reference to the age of 21 being the minimum criteria with no luck (possibly it is on page 21 of the website or hidden somewhere, could not find it). What scares me is that the call centre staff obviously do not know or chose not to tell you the truth. The simple fact is that whilst our medical aid goes up each year the Vitality benefits decrease year on year and it seems to a "smoke and mirrors' game that is played. Very disappointed with the lack of service and transparency
