Penalised for a Family Bereavement -Pathetic Discovery vitality Travel!

My wife and I booked return tickets- Port Elizabeth(PE) to Johannesburg( Jhb) – on Safair via the Discovery Vitality Travel (DVT) website to attend a funeral in Jhb. We departed PE on 7 August 2025 and were due to return on the 10 August 2025. On the afternoon of 8 Aug 2025, our mother passed away in Cape Town. We hurriedly booked tickets back to PE for the 9 August but as there we no Safair flights available, we flew back to PE on a South African airways flight- again tickets bought via the Discovery travel website. On arriving in PE on the 9 August 2025, we travelled to Cape Town by car the same day-9August 2025. Safair agreed to refund 50% of our cancelled flight from JHB to PE on the 10 Aug 2025 and refunded R1511.14 to Discovery Vitality Travel as we bought our tickets through Discovery Vitality travel. Then a shocking thing happened- Discovery refunded us the princely sum of R71.90 The refund breakdown as explained by Discovery- Less ZAR850.50 member amount Less ZAR567.00 cancellation fee Less ZAR211.60 refund fee

Total ZAR71.90 refund amount

In essence , we have been penalised by Safair and Discovery for a family bereavement.

To me this is the worse form of greed, lack of compassion and absolute daylight ******* displayed by Discovery Vitality travel- I am disgusted by their behaviour and attitude!
