No consideration for health - forcing people to damage themselves
Earlier this year my wife became very ill, leaving her unable to do exercises, not allowed to get her heart rate up. Her doctor is helping her become well again, and reckons she can start exercising again soon. But Vitality reckons this is not a good enough reason and says if she wants to get the Vitality points she needs to go do the fitness test even if it can cause her to die. Cannot believe this unacceptable response!! We've been on Gold status for two years, but won't get Diamand now because they can't cater for real life situations. I myself ran Comrades and Two Oceans this year, but am not allowed to get any more points apparently. Even though I had to pay R400 for a fitness test, and then got ZERO points. Refusing to pay me back. How can this be right!!?? Their other response was that we should go to the dentist for 1000 points, but we need 11 000 points. How does it make sense to pay thousands of rands for a dentist for 1000 points. Do Discovery want to make us bankrupt?? Paying 4 thousand rand a month and they don't want to accommodate a person. Also all good benefits they get, they take away. Got a credit card for hotel collection discounts, then they took the benefit away. Also I'm actively running marathons, but I can't get all my weekly points because some days my "heart rate is too low", or "the run is too short". Clearly these people have never exercised in their lives, because if you run the way they want you to, you will overexert yourself and injure yourself or die. They also never allow for recovery periods, and forcing people to rack up huge mileage, even directly after running a 90km race like the Comrades. Don't act like you care about peoples lives and health when you actually don't care about it, and just want to take all their money!!
