new apple watch promotion is a ****

like many others in SA, I got an apple watch using discovery vitality's promotion that if you are an active person you will pay only the initial fee plus an activation cost (R565). the deal was that you needed to do a number of activities per week, collecting 300 \vitality points\" (at the onset) and that week was free. going to the gym earned you 100 points, so anybody going to the gym regularly 3 times a week would be comfortable entering this deal.

but then discovery vitality changed the goal posts!

they subsequently moved the bar up so that you needed 400, then 500, then 600 and last week 650 points to qualify!

let me spell this out: I went to the gym 6 TIMES last week, earning 600 vitality points - but this STILL WASNT ENOUGH TO QUALIFY!

"

Hello Giomarco ,

Thank you for your post.

Vitality is a wellness brand and we strive to deliver on Discovery's core purpose of making people healthier. To do this, we need to reward members for clinically relevant, and verifiable exercise.

To ensure our benefits work optimally to achieve this objective, we need to constantly refine them to meet the feedback of our members as well as adjust to how we see the impact on behaviour of the benefits.

It is possible to earn up to 700 points a week by tracking your steps with any of our partner apps and devices. There are also many ways to earn more points in a day when your goal increases beyond this level including parkrun, heart rate tracking, and Vitality race events.

In addition, we acknowledge that these points changes will impact our members on Vitality Active Rewards and we have therefore decided to recalculate every Vitality Active Rewards members' goal in order to account for these changes.

Regards,

Discovery Vitality
