More a money making scheme than medical scheme

Where do I begin

I gymed with virgin active for the last 2 years with vitality. I was glad to pay the R1800 once off activation fee, and enjoyed the low fees for 2 years. I then moved to a new job with a planet fitness right next to it. I decided to move from Virgin active to Planetfitness and found out that I have to pay a new R2000 activation fee. In the beginning I thought it made sense, since its another company and that they also want my R2000 activation fee. UNTIL i found out that they don't even get the money, every cent of the activation fee is payed to discovery. Then I got ****ed off.

I mean, I already payed the fee and I am moving from one vitality gym to another. Discovery just want my money. I do not understand it. The call center told me that the Vitality program is just structured like that. When I asked to speak to a manager, the line went dead.

From a business perspective, it makes sense, they make more money, but from a client perspective, it just proved that all my friends was right. DISCOVERY IS EVIL. I don't even want to know how selfish they get when you claim a medical fee.

I will cancel my Discovery in the near future as soon as I have another medial Scheme.

I will change my mind if the Vitality structure change regarding this. If it is admin Discovery is worried about, I will pay R500 moving fee, but to pay R2000 again, will not happen.
