Increase price, increase difficulty to get points

I am extremely irritated with Vitality and Discovery. So much that I am looking into other medical aid schemes. The reason for this is that Discovery and Vitality have changed their points system and I understand why. But it does not work! I had (which I have since returned) a fitness tracker that cost me R3000, I had this because Vitality and Discovery decided to increase their fees (by 300%) that they charge gyms to use their points logging device, which forced the gym at which I train to stop their subscription.

This is only the start, I train 3-6 days a week for between 1 - 3 hours, I am relatively fit therefore my heartrate does not shoot up and I recover relatively quickly. This means that I never really go above 70% for a long period of time . So now I have stopped earning any points within 4 months of the year because my limit was reached for a specific heartrate zone.

Does this mean that if I was unfit and my heartrate is sky high that I will get points?!!! That is a really well thought out system!

I am extremely disappointed in the new system. And with Discovery hiking their fees up by over 10%, is the benefits actually really worth it?! As I said early I have since returned my fitness tracker and I am really concidering changing medical aids as Vitality is now near impossible to get to certain zone without spending a small fortune going to see specialists!
