Garmin running watch unable to communicate

Last year I used my Garmin Forerunner 10 that I specifically bought to record exercise sessions to upload about 100 exercise sessions at 150 points per session as I don't belong to a gym. I upgraded the software of the \communicator"and now it no longer communicates so I cannot get the points for exercising.
