False advertising of suitable fitness devices

According to Discovery Vitality's website in order for a paying and current Vitality member to earn between 150 and 200 Vitality points per day, the member should register an account on the said devices website, then link the device and the newly created account on Vitality's website and then adhere to some basic rules in order to earn the stated points. On 5 April 2015 I bought a Polar V800 heart rate monitor (fitness device). I had bought this device because according to Discovery Vitality all one needs to do is to purchase the device and then link it on their website. Please note that nowhere on Vitality's website could I find any information telling me which devices are actually compatible with Discovery Vitality and their points scheme. Take note that the Polar V800 is the top of the range heart rate monitor available on the market from Polar. So it stands to reason that this device should work on the Vitality network. Under the Polar link on the Vitality website I tried linking my V800 for 5 days but got an error every time. After calling the Vitality call centre on 9 April 2015 the lady told me that my device is not supported. So I spent R7000 for something I can not use.
