Dont cancel membership - keep reactivation to debit account!!
I joined Vitality beginning January 2024 to access my gym benefits and more for myself and my daughter. Paid the joining fee with Virgin Active just to realise that the sales person misrepresented me in terms of my daughters gym facilities she will be able to use at gym (she is a provincial figure skater so need specific training and Club V is not going to cut it). After realizing this I have cancelled my Virgin Active Membership immediately and refused to pay a months notice. This was written on the documentation when I completed the cancellation form. To make matters worse: I spoke to Wesley 05 February 2024 11:11 to cancel my Vitality membership also with immediate effect because if I am not able to use my gym membership for what was intended to and could not even activate my healthy eating benefit - why pay? I also refused to pay 30 day notice. The agent confirmed that the cancellation has been sent through just to see my account was debited 01 March. Received letter from credit department 05 March to say my membership has been place on hold. Received letter and sms 25 March to say thank you for payment and my membership has been reinstated. Really people??? Can you just cancel my membership and stop taking my money because I pay cancellation fee every time I have to reverse my membership. You make it impossible to email or lodge a complain. Customers are forced to contact you but there is clearly no action from that. I expect this to be resolved and confirmed in writing otherwise I will blast this on social media (I see I am not the only person dealing with this problem) and take this to the CPA and Ombudsman
