Beware of Discovery, I closed my account due to immigration and I was told that I could monetize my discovery miles and then it can be paid out to me in cash. When I tried to do this i had to have another account in my name to transfer the so called miles into. I did not have another account in SA in my name so I asked them if i could use my wife’s account as she is also a card holder on the same account and has another account in her name, I never got an answer from them. They just closed the account and left the so called miles hanging. I enquired about it and asked them for an answer to my request and I was then told that they should have told me but because I never moved over to the Discovery Bank account yet from the old Discovery Card system I am not able to monetize my miles but I can spend it online, so this is what I tried to do but no matter how many times I tried my OTP’s to approve the transaction to spend my miles would just never reach me. I tried to resolve this issue but to no avail. Non of their staff could help. Till now I have ghost miles that can’t be spent on what I would like to buy. I feel Discovery de*****ed me.
