Discovery Vitality & Virgin Active Misleading!

When i signed up to Virgin Active Northgate in 2015 the salesman at VA Bellair Mall insisted i join my partners Vitality at no cost to ensure i could pay lower rates or have a national membership. He called continuously for months and when i did eventually go onto my partners Discovery medical aid i called to let him know and he said he would sort everything out and call me back. I asked how does the Vitality work because i aware of the activation fee; and his exact words were that if my partner paid the activation fee and i am just a dependent then i dont have to pay it. The example he referenced was that if a family has 5 members all 5 dont pay the activation fee just the main member.

Come 6 months down the line I call Virgin Active Waterfall and queried if this had been sorted based on what the gentleman at Bellair Virgin Active had stated when he signed me. The salesperson there checked my details and advised that no such linking had been done and i do not qualify for vitality rates. I then call Bellair VA to enquire and the salesperson there was so adamant that the salesman who helped me isnt there anymore and they cant help me if.. Wait for it.. I dont pay R1800 to activate my vitality! I told him that VA Waterfall mentioned that if i had been advised by VA Bellair, than VA Bellair must call Discovery and resolve but the guy at the Bellair branch insisted he wouldnt because Discovery wont help me.

Where do i cough up R1800 from. And if Discovery and VA are sending out sales people are they even aware of the misleading info being fed to them?? Im not the only person this has happened to and it may mean nothing to either VA or Discovery but i will def be cancelling my gym membership and even consider moving my medical aid.
