So you have declined my appeal to adjust my points for just the one week when I was too sick to exercise after post operation complications - excessive bleeding.

So let’s just see what you are selling us with his vitality scheme.

You specifically state that the goals are personalized based on our activity and health risk. In the event we are ill we have to write in to you stating what happened and when with our doctors notes stating why we were unfit to exercise and for what duration. From there the appeals are submitted to a committee who decide on our fate. So it’s this committee that is overruling my doctor. They know better than my own doctor? Did they even see me or treat me?

Now you state that you will ‘penalize’ us for not making our goals. And we pay that penalty financially. To penalize someone is to Inflict a penalty to discipline for doing wrong. What did I do wrong?

To do that to someone who was physically unfit through no fault of their own is darn right mean and unsympathetic. Shame On you Discovery Vitality.

Until that week I had made 43 consecutive goals. Swam 5 days a week. Swam Midmar. Run every week the park run and then run home another 10kms. And yet just that one week and you want to penalize me - like I was too lazy to workout!

So you are actually putting peoples lives at risk by setting unreasonable and dangerous goals for people
