Discovery Vitality not willing to help with general query.

It seems that you have to be a member of Discovery Vitality before they care to answer a question about membership of their club! Not sure how many potential clients they lose in the process?

I called Discovery Vitality to ask a general product question - wanted to know if I'll have to pay full or pro-rata membership fee for the remainder of the year if I want to join the Team Vitality club. Spoke to a person called Sergi. He wanted to "verify" my identity, but seems that my contact details are outdated on their system, so he refused to help me. Despite my question clearly not "membership only" material. My husband (who is the main member at Discovery) called back, talking to Sergi again, explaining that we'll attend to the outdated info at another time, but for now we do not want access to any confidential info - we simply want to make a general, small product-related inquiry to decide whether we want to join their club or not. He outright refuses to help. Asked to talk to his manager, but after a long wait came back saying there is not a manager willing to take the call (note: not unavailable, but unwilling) before we can positively identify ourselves (against their outdated info on their system).

Not sure how I'm going to update my contact details, as I first need to know the correct incorrect piece of information, otherwise they don't want to talk to me? Sergi didn't want to help us or even direct us to anyone who can. He was courteous all the time, so I guess his trainer taught him very well how to wave away new business in a polite way. I also guess I got the answer on whether I should join their club or not ...
