Discovery Vitality: Disgusting Customer Service
From what I expected would be a seamless process of activating my Vitality membership, switching gym contracts, getting a new Discovery Credit card and applying for my Apple Watch I was indeed dreadfully mistaken.
Firstly, the credit card took over a week to be delivered with unnecessary logistical issues of which I would have to have my proof of address present once they deliver my card (not even my bank asks for that).
Secondly, every single query I make on the customer care line there's an average 7-8 minute wait time before a human being picks up of which 2 - 3 minutes go to formalities and verification checks. My grapple with this is the numerous amount of times I've had to call to sort out issues which the company should have been calling me instead.
Thirdly, the Apple Watch. I got their credit card and specifically made mention which number should be my primary phone number but naturally, the consultant was so eager on finishing the script in front of her that she forgot to listen to actual responses which ultimately.
Fourthly, CUSTOMER SERVICE; I dealt with a lot of consultants coming from a customer service and background and this was by far the most appalling and disrespectful service I have ever received. The calls were received as if they were doing me a favour by assisting me and showed zero class and effort. Both consultant and team leader were blatantly rude with words such as "is it you again?" "Didn't I speak to you this morning?!".
2 days into subscribing with Vitality and I'm considering ending the entire subscription including my medical aid. I would rather pay more and get service where I am treated as an actual customer rather than some beggar on the street. To anyone who is considering signing up with their offerings, I strongly urge you to reconsider your decision. The benefits are not worth the service and cost. Uzair Ahmed was the consultant who initially assisted me and provided me with splendid service.
