Discovery Vitality - con!!

Discovery have successfully built a business around complexity and small print and they are disonhourable in their dealings with customers. I tried to activate the shoe booster in November 2017 and duly paid the R350 activation fee. They purport this to be an easy process which can be done online through their App. In my case I made one minor mistake thinking that the Healthy Gear card app**** to the family where in fact it is member specific. What distresses me is that the system would have revealed that only 3 of the 4 steps had been correctly concluded. There was no alert to the fact that the transaction could not be completed. Notwithstanding repeated efforts to have this resolved, I have been faced with red tape and small print indicating that nothing can be done. Not only am I not having the cost of my shoes refunded but the R350 activation fee is also not being refunded. This is nothing short of a ploy to mislead people into thinking that they qualify for benefits which they (Discovery) have no intention in honouring. Thankfully this is only a pair of shoes, which I have picked up on after a few months. Imagine the poor folk who have "promises" around investment boosters or additional benefits through their complex life products which will in all likelihood never be honoured. Let the signer beware - abominable client experience. I am one of several people who have had this experience, coincidence you decide.
