Discovery travel attempting to ***** your money

I booked a flight and a vehicle through vitality travel and paid with my credit card on the 11 April 2022 . I cancelled the car booking within one hour of booking it , The funds were still in the pending section of my credit card . On enquiring about cancellation and refund I was told I would have to wait 6-8 weeks for my refund to be processed . I was gobsmacked . I have continuously followed up with them . On the 04 May I was told that my request had been prioritized and escalated . On the 11 May I was told that the refund had been processed and was sent a picture of the refund . It was dated the 11 April . The person who I am dealing with tells me they will follow up with accounts but never get back to me . Do they keep on doing this until people give up . It is tantamount to theft
