Deceived and disappointed by Discovery & Vitality
I just want to register my disappointment at the changes Vitality Rewards has made to Vitality rewards from 02 April.
I am 62 and enjoyed earning points by walking. Often more than 12500 steps on weekends with my wife. To facilitate this I bought her a Jawbone UP 2 and myself a Polar Loop. Neither monitors heart rate so this is a cool R3000 WASTED. Thank you! I was deceived.

My only consolation is that I saw the flaw in the iWatch offer and avoided that. I am not that naive.

These changes have turned me from a fan to a cynic. I hope it is worth it for them!

Vitality did also not bother to reply to an email like this. It shows how they value customers.
Thank you for your post.
Vitality is a wellness brand and as a scientific-based wellness programme we strive to deliver on Discovery's core purpose of making people healthier. To do this, we need to reward members for clinically relevant and verifiable exercise.
To ensure our benefits work optimally to achieve this objective, we need to constantly refine them to meet the feedback of our members as well as adjust to how we see the impact on behaviour of the benefits.
It is possible to earn up to 700 points a week by tracking your steps with any of our partner apps and devices. There are also many ways to earn more points in a day when your goal increases beyond this level including parkrun, heart rate tracking, and Vitality race events. We are placing more emphasis on data which is both verifiable and clinically relevant.
In addition, we acknowledge that these points changes will impact our members on Vitality Active Rewards and we have therefore decided to recalculate every Vitality Active Rewards members' goal in order to account for these changes.
Regards
Discovery Vitality
