Changes to Vitality Rewards

I recently took out the Apple Watch Sport that Discovery offered to its members that qualify for the watch. However with the proposed Discovery active rewards points goals they do not take into account that we are not pro-athletes, how do they expect us to reach a +90 minutes of vigorous heart rate (+80%) let alone +210 minutes of vigorous heart rate? <br> They do not mention if there will be a cap on the amount of points we need to reach weekly, how do they expect us to ever reach the targets should it reach a point that is unobtainable? I feel like I was just ****med into taking up the deal. This feels like one of those Nigerian ****s

Hello RonaldWeng,

Thank you for your post.

We have updated our heart rate workout duration recommendations to fall more in line with international standards whereby Vitality members are encouraged to take part in regular, moderate/vigorous physical activity most days of the week for at least 30 minutes a day and as such the 100 and 300 points ranges are easily within reach of our members.

These heart rate guidelines give members a good indication of the level of exertion which allows them to benefit the most from their workouts and rewards them for doing so with Vitality fitness points. For instance, a more active member who takes part in 30 minutes of vigorous exercise such as a spinning class four days a week with a linked heart rate monitor will easily earn 1 200 points a week.

In addition, we acknowledge that these points changes will impact our members on Vitality Active Rewards and we have therefore decided to recalculate every Vitality Active Rewards members' goal in order to account for these changes.

Regards,
Discovery Vitality
