Can't link Garmin Fitness watch - Please advise

Trying to link my gamin fitness watch but get an error that says "One unique account - This account cannot be linked as it has already been used by another user. Please try again with your unique device or app account credentials"

This is the third time i'm having to enquire about this, patience is wearing thin..
