Cancel Gym Membership after 6 years
I yesterday received an email from Discovery saying that my Virgin Active gym membership has come to an end after 6 years due to not making 36 visits. I went back to my emails and found an email sent to me on 18/12/2014 - dated the 10th but sent to me 8 days later, advising that I needed to catch up 2 gym visits before the end of December in order to ensure I maintain my membership. I checked this morning and I in fact made 39 visits to the gym in 2014. Due to injuries which I needed to constantly see a physio for (which Discovery will have record of) and being sick this was admittedly a step down. I never received further communication regarding this until yesterday when I was advised that my membership was terminated. Surely if there is automation to cancel my contract you have automation to inform a member if there is a problem or they are behind? I would like to resolve this issue and will gladly be moving my membership closer to my office in order for me to gym every morning before work and catch up all outstanding visits.

Alternatively I will be looking for a new medical aid altogether.
