Beware false advertising for fitness wear

Discovery vitality advertise R750 off fitness devices for vitality members at Dischem. Based on this representation, I purchase a UP2 at a cost of R1800 because it will only work out to R1050 once the rebate (to which I am entitled as a Vitality member) is app****. On calling the call centre to find out how to claim, Hector informs me that I should have presented my card at the till to obtain R750 off and there is nothing he can do. When I asked him how I should have known this in the absence of explicit information to this effect, he replies I should have checked the website. His manager Patience reiterated that I should have checked the terms and conditions, and further stated that I am not eligible for the discount in any event becauseI have not registered for a healthy care benefit. I am a paid up vitality member who is being denied a discount advertised as being offered to VITALITY members because of a technicality I could not have known about unless I went onto their website and read their terms and conditions in store. This is the final straw that broke the camels back. I am cancelling with them and using whatever influence I have to tell people what ***** they are!
