Anti-consumerism, inflexible newcomer policies, untrained and ill-informed network of professionals
What an absolute farce of policy updates. For newcomers that is new to how Vitality works and Discovery's terms and conditions. It's very unlikely to get the ropes within the first 2 weeks.
I am constantly hit hard with all the ridiculous new policies that are put in place when I'm finally getting Vitality. To most clients that have had Vitality for ages, it might be easier to pick up. For someone new, it is all very overwhelming.
First! All my previously accumulated Discovery Miles have expired. Without even spending a single time. I was ****** from any pleasure of reaping any reward. I opened an account, they've deducted EVERY SINLGE MONTH. Thousands upon thousands in banking fee but I haven't even completed my application. I didn't have the app for probably a decade but I was still deducted month after month. They couldn't assist me because of the policy. All my Miles gone!
We've very recently joined Vitality and trying to accumulate points to get to gold. Both my partner and I live quite a healthy lifestyle. I learnt that the fitness assessment done by the biokineticist yields extremely low results which really doesn't translate to your fitness level. My first assessment done on the 23rd October was done and when my biokineticist finished my assessment, I was given a 0.0 score! This is all because of their system being faulty. I then try my very best to understand how Discovery gets these scores and found out that my score wasn't even put into the system because of a glitch. Then I found out that Discovery has a pathetic methodology to calculate fitness level which gave me a Fair fitness level. On my Garmin Watch, I am a Excellent.
All my effort to get my fitness level to improve, I am then told that all that I have done is absolutely for naught! Even if my fitness level is in real time Excellent. Because of their failing system and their anti-consumer policies for new clients. They'd rather have you waste your time so that they can capitalise on your ignorance. The less you know, the more they gain.
If I knew that their scoring methodology was this pathetic. I would never have gone and wasted my money on a professional biokineticist. It's not like they know what they are doing. If I knew that fitness devices yielded the most accurate readings, I wouldn't even be in this predicament of striving for points that I would've never been able to reach.
There should absolutely be a grace period for new Vitality members to learn the ropes. I am absolutely disappointed and disgraced at how I am fooled that this is to the benefit and health of us as clients.
