109 Days of Hell

I don't normally do this. I'm not someone who writes negative reviews. I give Uber drivers 5 stars or I don't rate them at all. But what I've been through with Discovery Vitality is just absolutely insane. I've aged so much in the last three months, I'm surprised my Apple Face ID still unlocks my phone.

Discovery has now owed me R1000 HealthyFood cash back for 109 days.

I have since sent 2 queries, 14 social media direct messages, 15 emails, called them 17 times and visited the Discovery Store in Sea Point twice. At some stage my escalated escalation was escalated. I am now dealing with two customer service specialists from the Escalated Query Management Team - for a simple statement showing cash back earned vs cash back paid out to me. Which they still haven't been able to provide.

Nolubabalo Tom, manager, has been involved for 39 days. Uzair Ahmed, manager, has been involved for 18 days.

Although I've never been rude to them, they've ignored about 10 of my emails and have never, not once, been true to their word.

Obviously R1000 isn't worth going to hell and back. But at some stage you're just in too deep.

If I could travel back in time and give my younger self one piece of advice - it wouldn't be to ask that girl out I never had the courage to ask or to buy Amazon shares in the 90s or to floss daily or to go see Queen live at Wembley Stadium - it would be to let R1000 slip and never EVER call Discovery Vitality Customer Service.
