The waiting game and meeting the criteria of Discovery Life

I am a dentist...sole provider for my 2 children, with 7 families relying on my business for a living ...for this reason I took out the best possible business continuation and personal income protector from Discovery to provide for situations like I find myself in currently...What a huge mistake! My neck problems started in 2015, but the battle for my claims to be paid was even worst! since my last fusion in March2017 I have not been able to practice my profession at all...Devastating as it was for my neurosurgeon to inform me that at the age of 41 I can never practice again (this was my passion and calling since I was a little girl) it does not compare with the trauma induced to me by Discovery! There is no transparency in the process when you are in claim. You have to phone a landline to speak to your assessor who needless to say you can hardly ever reach. I, to top it all off got a message that stated that I do not meet the criteria for capital disability and the explanation will follow(who knows when)...This is outrageous! I have occupational specific cover...paid R9400 premium per month, and it seems Discovery are hoping that I will commit suicide during this waiting game so that they won't have to pay me? Please don't put yourself in a position like mine by trusting that you will be treated right by Discovery? They will hold back your payments as long as possible and try their utmost best to find a reason NOT to pay you...and getting information from them is close to impossible!
