Terrible life insurance application
I am an avid Discovery supporter but was very disappointed when I tried to apply for life insurance.
I app**** in 2019 and was denied because I have polycystic kidneys - which is not lethal. Almost everyone in my family has polycystic kidneys, and has had no trouble getting life insurance. They declined my application, but said if I go see a urologist they will reconsider.
I went to see a Urologist, got an MRI, CT, sonar, blood test, urine test. The urologist also wrote them a report saying I am in perfect health, and my kidneys do not pose a threat.
I tried to follow up with the consultant who helped me, but could not get hold of her so I started the process again and relayed all the information. In short they declined my application again, which is their right. Their reason was that I have a medical condition, but they cannot disclose it to me. They will only relay the information via a doctor. So after all the very expensive scans and urologist visit I had to go see another doctor. To tell me what? Oh, you have polycystic kidneys! Are you kidding me?! After all that money I spent they sent me back to a doctor to tell me about a condition I disclosed to them in the first place.
