Life Insurance Denied - Are people with mental health conditions not good enough?

Dear Discovery, C.O. Peter Harvey I cannot fathom that I am not able to receive any cover at all. I have completed my schooling and a degree after being diagnosed. I have never had a drug relapse or symptomatic relapse of my condition. You can test me tomorrow if that is what you want and you can consult with my Psychiatrist. My condition is managed and has been for years.I have worked full time for 12 years and am working as a specialist in my field, I receive a sizable salary and annual bonus, I am certainly not destitute or some mad drug infused dizzy eyed fiend. I expected that I might have life cover with exclusions due to my medical condition but to say that I am never able to ensure the life that I have built is absurd.I have completed 10 Argus cycle tours and I can assure you that I am healthier than some of the clientele that you have decided to grace with the privilege of doing business with you. I have been a member of Discovery Medical Aid for over 10 years, I have a Discovery bank account, I am on Vitality. All I am looking to achieve is to get cover if something happens to me, it does not have to cover my illness at all but what if I get hit by a bus? What will my fiance do, how can you say that I am not allowed to protect what I have achieved? I have the right to be heard and quite frankly I feel that my rights as a contributing citizen of South African are being infringed upon. Do you deny anyone with a mental illness? I am a person and I will not go quietly. I am going to be writing a letter to the Ombud and I am going to write to the media, this is **************. and I am strongly considering distancing myself from Discovery, I find myself not really feeling the message is true anymore.
