Discovery promotes a product their own staff don’t know exists

I've received multiple emails from Discovery Life encouraging me to apply for the Discovery Home Loan Protector — a product supposedly offering up to a 0.25% reduction on my home loan interest rate. Sounds great, right? The problem is: it’s completely inaccessible.

I’ve been trying to apply for this product via the Discovery Bank app for months — ever since my home loan was initiated in December 2024 — with no success. I’ve followed every step exactly as instructed. The option either doesn't appear or leads nowhere.

I eventually called the number listed in the promotional email. After being transferred five times, not one person could tell me anything about this product. Let that sink in — Discovery is actively promoting a product to clients that their own staff have never heard of.

I also emailed them months ago — no reply. Zero support. Zero resolution.

Is this just another gimmick? A bait-and-switch? Or is it a real benefit that no one in Discovery knows how to activate?

I'm completely fed up with wasting my time trying to chase something Discovery themselves can’t seem to manage. Don’t advertise a product you’re clearly not ready to deliver on.
