DISCOVERY - NARROW MINDED

I am writing this not only as a complaint, but as a disappointment!

I have a life policy with Discovery Life which only covered my and my husband's life. I subsequently wanted to add my children and were told that at R50 000 dreaded disease policy is available. I completed all the forms sent it in for processing. Needless to say it took almost 2 months for me to get a final answer, 2 months??? for a R50 000 policy.

My eldest son suffers from Nephrotic Syndrome diagnosed approximately 3 years ago. With some complications in the beginning he is now stable and in excellent health (as per the specialist's report that was requested) funny enough, a specialist on Discovery's board of all things.

After all of that, paper work back and forth, specialist reports etc, still my son is being declined on this policy! I will get another policy for him, but what makes me angry is that my younger son can now benefit from the Vitality benefits but my eldest not! How unfair is that!! Punishment for something one could not have predicted.

Unfortunately, I cannot cancel this stupid policy now, because I would loose to much in the process!! Hate Discovery... I now understand why so many people complain about them.
