Discovery Life - More like Disappointment in covering your life, but covering your wallet

I downgraded my Vitality to the Active one beginning of October 2021 and signed the quote sent to me for R519.16

End of October they deduct R605 and when questioned, they tell me that my premium went higher, I then challenged them on the fact that I have signed a quote which they have generated themselves. I demanded to speak to a manager who then phone me like 4 days later and told me that it is because my occupation changed and the underwriters then adapted the policy.

I explained that I do the exact same work now for the new company as before and it is just the naming description of my post that changed, not the work, not the responsibility, I do the exact same thing. They then said they will send me a form to fill in so that the underwriters can review it.

It has now been 8 days since sending that in, no response yet. R86 deducted off my bank account without my consent because they never phoned me to discuss the fact that the name description changed, they JUST DEDUCTED WITHOUT CONSENT!!!!

In this time period where things are expensive and people are struggling, one does not just deduct without consent and if customer comes to you to sort this out, you get back to him. But I have had it. I wonder how many other people are they just deducting from because of a silly name description due to companies have their own way of describing things and how many rand are being taken wrongfully from people without consent. Maybe Carte Blanche would be interested in such a story or maybe the Rapport or Die Burger
