Discovery Life - is it a contract from Hell?
I do not understand your process:
I wish to cancel my life policy, but am told by Discovery that I HAVE to do this via a broker/adviser - according to Discovery Life, I cannot cancel a life policy without the services of an adviser. To facilitate this requirement, Discovery assigns an adviser to my policy (DFC Discovery) and we discuss my requirements in November 2018 with the understanding that it will take approximately 5 working days for the adviser to obtain all my relevant details and will then meet with me again to discuss the various options at my disposal. Three months later, still no word from the Discovery appointed adviser. On 20 February 2019, I mailed the adviser, requesting an update – to date NO response.
In essence for the past three months I have been consistently paying for a policy I wish to cancel, because YOUR rules do not allow me to cancel it direct ……. I have to work via an adviser, yet the adviser YOU appointed is not assisting me.
SERIOUSLY!!!!
Is Discovery going to refund me for the months I have been paying due to the non-performance of YOUR employee?
PS: As noted during our initial discussions, I did not want an adviser, as the one that sold me the policy disappeared shortly after the application was processed. The few time I asked him questions on the policy after it was in force, I got a lot of wrong info.
What is the next hoop I must jump through to get rid of this useless policy?
