Discovery life is an overpriced and misleading policy that claims to be market leaders yet their claim and benefits are misleading. My policy claims that it automatically covers immediate family in the event of life threatening illnesses. On calling Discovery due to my spouse going through a life threatening event, I was told that immediate family refers to one children and parent and not your spouse. This was never explained to me before and I have gone along with this policy which increase premiums their premiums by 9% but your benefits by only 3% for this reason. Had I known I would have opted for one of the traditional policies where I would have paid a lower premium with higher payout.
