Discovery is Reckless - Your Nurses are Terrible!!!!

On 30/03/2017 I had the nurse from discovery come through to investec to do my medicals which included :

1. HIV Test

2. Urine Test

3. Blood Sugar

4. Cholesterol levels

The gentleman who came to see me was Martin, we proceeded to the wellness centre to do the assessment. Once the assessment had started he gave me a tablet to fill in the medical questionnaire, but at the same time he wanted to do the finger ***** to start the tests, I requested that we do one thing at a time, he then said he was in a rush and needed to get this done quickly. I then paused the medical questionnaire, upon resuming I asked for clarity on the Hospital admissions question, he then took the tablet and asked me for the year, I told him 2015 and gave him the exact dates, He then said he didn’t need the exact dates, after that I asked him to hand me back the tablet, he refused and filled in the rest of the medical questionnaire. I don’t even know what the other questions were.

He then requested that I get my ID / Passport, then he gave me a urine sample container (the one with the green lid) which was in a white plastic, and said I should collect a urine sample in there. He packed up his equipment and then took my HIV test and threw it in his bag where there was several other used HIV test kits with Blood on them.

I went to get my ID document, then went to the loo for the urine sample, upon taking out the urine sample container I noticed that it was wet and tinge smell of urine, I looked inside the white plastic and the plastic was wet on the inside. I did not collect a sample in that container. I went back outside and told him that the container he gave me was wet and had been used. He then told me he had parked very far and that I should take the urine dip stick with me to the bathroom and bring it back when I had urinated on it. I came back from the loo and gave him the dip stick which he didn’t check against the results chart that comes with the test kit.

I thought the worst was over, he then had to find my HIV test which he had thrown in with the Masses, he went through about 5 HIV tests be he located what he said was my test, how did he reach that conclusion? He felt the area where he had put the blood sample and because it was not completely dried up he concluded that it must be my test.

I was utterly shocked and disappointed to say the least. If it’s not too much to ask, I would like to redo my medical questionnaire and the medical assessment again. So that I can be comfortable and sure that thing have been done accordingly.

I will be moving my life policy to Liberty since no one has followed up with this case and given me feedback.
