Discovery is probably the worst company ever.the they call themselves proudly south African.Yet they'll do you in wherever they can..Don't ever get a policy from Discovery. Bunch of money sucking greedy *******. Very Quick to write you a policy, But try avoid paying out the policy. Using all these lame excuses. I' took out a life policy on my late mother in 2014. Paid the premiums even through lockdown.. my mother died a month ago..I claimed on the policy. And after weeks was told they wont pay out ,cos my mother was diagnosed with a sickness in 2013. Now this my mother was on Discovery s medical aid. Why didn't they picked up the sickness in 2014 and adviced me of it. My mother was all well she passed the medical inspection for the claim. Instead they left it for years .eventually they said they'll pay back the premiums. I thought we'll lets just get this over.so I accept it.however after a week of trying to contact them via phone or email to see how things are coming on, and leaving several messages ( they always busy). They eventually e mail me saying that they will pay the premiums back to my mother s estate. As to them she took out and paid the policy. ***. .I took out the policy .the premiums came from a debit order on my account. Then they even have the Cheeck to say they will pay it back after they deduct their expenses .What about my cost.they used my money to make money.Wheres my interest. Stay away from Discovery .very far..
