Disappointing Communication

I was very excited to join the Discovery Group and their Vitality program, but the lack of communication regarding my Life application has been disappointing.

I have app**** over 2 weeks ago. I want to join Vitality and Virgin Active, and I am generally a very healthy person, living a healthy lifestyle. Because I use bloodthinners and have one functioning kidney (which I disclosed out of honesty), I naturally had to do some medical tests, which was done last Monday (24 Jan). On the Tuesday (25th) I was asked to send all my medical reports I had. I contacted the radiologists and my doctor to send all to me, and I have sent this to Len, personally, and via ***. ANd I even tried to get answers by emailing ***. Some of these reports had a Password, which I also gave on my emails.

I have been struggling to get feedback, and I really wanted to join the gym before end of day on 31 Jan.

This Monday past I have spoken to Len and 2 other individuals, both promising me feedback before days end. I emailed again later that afternoon, to ask what is happening, but I have not received any feedback. I am now sitting here writing a review, because I just cant get myself to try and email or phone and have to hold on for 30 min, trying to get an answer.

I am also considering changing my bank to discovery as I have been hearing good things from friends, but this experience with communication has me a bit worried.

And just like that under 1 hour, after two weeks of struggle, I get feedback saying it has been declined. That is very disappointing since my kidney issue is stable and considered con*******, and otherwise healthy inividual. Not even a premium loading or decreased cover offered, life with FNB life. FNB Life took me as a client after I disclosed my medical history, and policy was done in 1 day.
Very disappointing.

Maybe I feel a little rejected, but I felt the need to point out my situation.

I am a 33 year old male, with a pre-existing health condition. (which is quite stable, and I'm actually very healthy in general, working out most days and following a healthy lifestyle)

I was very keen to go the Discovery route with Vitality and change from FNB to Discovery Bank.

Because of my health condition which requires me to take blood thinners, I cant just change my medical aid, but I was advised I could take out a life policy from discovery, and then qualify for the vitality program. I was very excited, and even looked into getting Discovery Bank as well.

Unfortunately my life policy application was rejected (after 2 weeks of poor communication - see my review on Discovery Life)

This means, as a 33 year old, I wont ever be able to join Vitality health and thus, I dont see the point in changing my bank either as all these products go hand in hand.

Disappointed, and frustrated, and maybe my feelings are a bit hurt.
But this is probably how lots of clients wont make use of Discovery Bank.
