Decline to pay school fees for an orphan. First born child of the late member
Good day
Its so sad that i habe to take a matter to the public for help. Discovery life is refusing for my step child school fees. My late pouse had a Educational trust funds for all his 3kids however they refusing to pay for the late member first born child.
Reason being they need proof of lobola or proof of maintenance. They have death certificate confirming the late member was never married but they still ask for information like that.
He had medical aid and pension fund with the same company discovery and all this kids benefited now only one child school fees will not be paid. My daughter lost both parents mother and father. She is currently living with un employed grand parents but they still refuse to pay her school fees how un ethically is that. How do they finalise to exclude and orphan from her father's trust fund

Am still waiting for feedback even today no one has called me or informed me of what's happening. This is the worse service ever. If we knew this is how our kids we struggle when comes to claiming am sure we will look for better financial institutions.
My daughter will not write exams until school fees is paid. So whiles you waiting who's suffering in all this??? 15yrs old child is dealing with all of this

We have escalated this matter to the Discovery Group Risk department since this is related to a Group Life and not an Individual Life policy.
They will contact and/or respond to you urgently.
