Cover no good

I have a life policy with discovery life from 2018 at the time i took the policy i was loaded with some fees to cancel exclusions only now in 2021 not evan having a claim i pick up on my policy docks there are 4 excl on my policy.... Why did they load my prem then.... Wht have your self cover for disability and sick if 2 of the main things is excl.... It dont make sence why they took my money for how long but on the end with that excl i dont have any benifit or im paying a load of money for on the end no cover
