Apalling Service From Discovery Life

My wife has a policy with Discovery Life which is supposed to pay her medical aid premiums in the event of her be unable to. She unfortunately suffered a stroke in December 2019 and when she was finally placed on disability by her company, a claim was submitted to Discovery Life in July 2020. With the neccessary documents submitted, her claim was approved within a few days. It is unfortunate that to date, and it is more than a month, we have not yet received confirmation of payment or any written indication of what to expect from this policy. I have continously been emailing and calling Discovery Life for feedback and was always told it's with technical, being finalized and I would have feedback within 24 to 48 hours. There is a quite a few 48 hours that have gone by. I finally got feedback on the 7th September 2020 to say payment is being made today and when I asked for this in writing, nothing could be provided.

The reason I now am taking this to social media is that we still have no payment and have no idea if and when it will take place and that in this time of waiting, we are still faithfully keeping to payments on this policy and medical aid. All funds are exhausted on medical aid and due to the bill now due by us to the rehab facility, we have had to stop all treatment with the intention of using this policy to settle medical debts. I have explained that this brake in treatment could have a negative effects on the the patient both mentally and physically but it seems that it is not important to Discovery.

This is truly appalling service received from Discovery especially in this situation, this is just a benefit cover to take care of medical aid premiums, I hate to think how they actually handle other claims
