Absolutely disgusted

I have a discovery classic life policy since January 2017. The premiums have now reached a point as to where i cannot afford to keep the policy. i haven't made any claims on this policy. Now that i wish to surrender the policy i am being told that there are no surrender values for life policies(which is not stated in the policy wording) and that all the premiums that i paid will be forfeited. That means Discovery will keep all the money that i have paid for this policy and all the interest that it has earned, even though i never claimed since i have the policy. How is this fair to the consumer????
