Worst insurance ever

I was involved in a motor vehicle accident on 29 September 2016 and my car was deemed uneconomical to repair (written off). The settlement amount on my vehicle was R228,881.59 and retail value R268,000. However Discovery Insure tried to settle a model which has a retail value of R217,500. This after all correct VIN numbers, MM numbers etc was ontained from the car's manufacturer (Mercedes Benz). Discovery tried to say that a different model was insured. After numerous emails and telephone calls, Discovery refused to speak to me further and discuss the matter. On 11 January 2017 I emailed again requesting assistance, I was ignored. On 7 February I kindly informed Discovery Insure of my intention to seek guidance from the short term insurance ombudsman. The same day a consultant phoned me apologising profusely for not replying to any communications, she also said that it was a system error and apologies for the delays, I will be reimbursed within the next two days. I did not want to communicate on the telephone as I want all written evidence to pass along to the ombudsman, but the consultant would not put it in writing even after she promised she would. Instead in an email I was informed it is with management for review. By 17 February 2017 I've had numerous excuses for the delays and have absolute no clarification as to what is going on. It seems like they are trying to find the next excuse to duck out of paying for an accident which happened almost 5 months ago.
