Worst experience ever
I had a break in on the 2nd Nov. Logged a claim with Discovery. Now I need to prove ownership of the ****** goods. After all the trauma of our privacy being violated when strangers went through our whole house, ransacking everything we now have to endure the scrutinizing of the insurance. After waiting for 2 weeks for SAPS to provide a case number I now have to go back and request the report from them because the insurance requires it. So I have to take time off from work, and not get paid, because the police is only there until 16h00. Furthermore, I must allow more strangers in my house to do an inventory for Discovery otherwise my claim wont even be considered. Why was this not done on inception of the policy. The advisor was quick to correct me...I should have read my policy document. So I can see where this is heading. I am not going to get anything, because I need to keep invoices and boxes and God knows what else to prove I am not lying..but they are quick to deduct my premium monthly. Oh but the inventory is only needed once there is an incident, not on inception of the policy. Thats on me to prove what I had. Fabulous...Then just pay my premiums back and cancel everything. At least that way I at least recover the replacement of the locks and doors that were damaged.
