Vitality Drive System is flawed and Banking Customers are impacted
I have a big issue with Vitality Drive Rewards System which impacts on ability to use the new iPhone benefit offered by Discovery Bank
Even though the DQ Tracker dashboard shows more than 100km driven with ZERO Violations, I have not been achieving my weekly goals. I complained via Twitter and was contacted by Bongani Khanyile. His service was great, and I have given him a 4 star rating already as his performance needs to be commended!
The feedback that he gave me (which is what he has been told) is less than acceptable. Things that make the system flawed and almost impossible to achieve goals are:
1) 61/81/101/121 in a 60/80/100/121 zone is speeding and resets progress. This means that Discovery would rather I watch my speedometer like a hawk instead of focusing on the road and surroundings. Surely there should be at least a 2km/h allowance?
2) Rewards are achieved for 100 consecutive "event-free" kilometers in a trip. A "TRIP" = Engine on till engine off. An "EVENT" = speeding, harsh breaking, harsh accelerating or harsh cornering. If you drive 200km in a TRIP, but (for example) needed to slam on breaks 1km into the journey to avoid hitting a dog, and then proceeded with the other 199km event-free, those 199 don't count because of the event at the start of the trip. So, if an event happens, you need to stop your car and restart it to reset the trip to get your rewards.
3) The DQ Tracker does not show speeding violations (which is why the dashboard shows ZERO Violations. You need to pull a whole other report to see where and when you were speeding. BUT, this report does not highlight the speeding events, nor does it give an indication as to what the speed limit is next to all the speeds recorded every 2 minutes. How do you fix your behavior if you don't know where the bad behavior is taking place???
Thank you for bringing your concern to our attention.
We have escalated this matter to the relevant department and will provide you with feedback in due course.

Please elaborate on "in due course". It has been over a week now.
Thanks
