Vitality Drive 3.0 is another Discovery Marketing lie

Well done Discovery. You have once again managed to market an “Improvement” to one of your benefit schemes, while in reality, your average customer will get less of a benefit! When you first advertised that you were going to nearly double your fuel rewards to up to 50% back on up to R3,000 fuel spend under Vitality Drive 3.0, I was keen to see the actual fine print as there is no way that you would actually double the money you pay back to your customers. Now that it’s out, and I’ve worked through the fine print it is clear that you are now surely paying out less in total fuel rewards than you were before under vitality drive 2.0 while still being able to “virtue signal” to the world that you are trying your best to pay out more to your customers that are under financial pressure! Your marketing that states up to 50% back for up to R3,000 fuel spend (R1,500 cash back) is just a lie! To actually reach this reward, you would need to first install either the DQ app-based vehicle tracking system or dedicated DQ track and achieve more than 2,500 points in month 1 to reach diamond status. However, this is all but impossible if you have the dedicated DQ track system as the maximum points available is 2,700, so even if one - drives perfectly for 30 consecutive days, - does not drive at all at night - is claim free for 3+ years - If more than 1,500km for the month is driven, 200 points are lost dropping the total below 2,500 point and reducing the percentage to 35% as a maximum! Then comes the real rub… This percentage is then app**** to the following month’s points and fuel spend to calculate the cash back So, to now actually get the R1,500 back in fuel you need to in month 2, have the app based tracking system (you can’t have only the dedicated DQ track system and earn R1,500, the dedicated system will be capped at R1,350) - drives perfectly for 30 consecutive days, - does not drive at all at night - is claim free for 3+ years - Drive less than 150km for the month!!! - Spend more than R3,000 on fuel at Shell or BP! Now either my vehicle needs to have the fuel consumption of a farm tractor, or I need to be buying fuel for something other than the vehicle I have insured with Discovery to travel less than 150km and spend more than R3,000 on fuel. (Maybe for my back-up generator or another vehicle that is not insured by Discovery) And the more one drives, the less points are awarded on distance yet the more I will actually need to spend on fuel. So, once again, well done Discovery marketing department for blowing smoke up everyone’s @ss and conning many people into thinking that you have once again improved a benefit when in reality on average, you have reduced the benefit and in my opinion just blatantly **** to your customers!
