Very unhappy - Insurance watch out

As for insuring contents of my house. When taking out insurance it was done within minutes just as the insurance in my vehicle. Not many questions asked and interrogation. It was gladly accepted and debuts taken each month. I was told by someone just to check on the coverage with regards to having a thatch roof and low and behold there are so many rules and regulations to insuring ur house and/or contents thereof. We are pensioners and rent a property/plot with a thatch roof and the owners don’t have insurance on the house so I insured the contents which belong to me. Thank goodness I checked on the insurance cause it was not asked or mentioned about having s thatch roof. If the roof would have caught fire I wouldn’t have been out a cent. Not only because the thatch was not mentioned from the start but also because to protocols not being followed according to what it should be. Eg. no lightning conductor which has be up according to law. Another is the thatch not being kept in the condition it should be. What really angers me about all of this is that when the policy us originally taken out all this is not questioned or mentioned no matter what I insuring but when you put in a claim WOW that’s another ball game. The questions and interrogation that goes own and I have to repeat the same story 10 times over Incase u say something different. A way out of not paying what us due to u. Like I said in my previous write up of the rims for my vehicle I have still not received any answers. I have not even requested for the Tyres to be replaced which we have done in our own accord. To be very honest about my vehicle claim we didn’t know that we could claim from insurance as the damages was caused by potholes. Someone told me to enquire about it cause that huge pothole has caused us a lot of damage and expenses and do I did. It has been a nightmare since then. Anyway each one to themselves but to me and my hubby all this insurance **** is what it is **** and costs s lot of money for nothing and no reduction for pensioners either. We have been so put off insurances I don’t think I would even try another. Some people are maybe just lucky with their insurances but my experience Not Much to be Desired. Good luck everyone. If u have a thatch roof please do urself a favor and check on it to make sure u covered. We should actually interrogate the insurance companies before insuring our valuables cause after all we pay the heavy premiums every month.
