Very Disappointed customer

I would like to give my fairest assessment about Discovery insure. My policy number for reference ***. I recently incurred loss (10 Jun 2021) via a break-in to my property where ******* made off with valuables such as TV’s (2 sets flatscreens), Gaming consoles, laptops and computers, tv boxes and a few smaller items. Here is the shocker, upon assessment of my claim *** I was told I was under insured as the assessor, took replacement value of the entire house inventory googling brand new prices on the internet hence putting the first price he sees on the inventory assessment form. When I was sold the policy, I was NOT told that a replacement value meant acquiring BRAND NEW items as I gave the best estimate on what I valued my contents at the time to replace. We are still waiting for the said assessor to pull the sales call to confirm that we did understand being underinsured. We are still waiting since 18 Jun 2021. As a result of this we could be severely underinsured which affects the claim. I JUST WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW THAT IN THE EVENT OF A LOSS TO CONTENTS, DISCOVERY INSURE FINDS EVERY LOOPHOLE NOT TO SETTLE. To add to this nightmare the assessor comes to my home and further invades my privacy to take inventory claiming that “he has to do his job” by coercing us to open our cupboards, drawers, rooms etc for him to take pictures. The other shocking truth is that when I updated the address to my current address on my policy the consultant only changed the address for my car and not my household contents. To my understanding I have just one policy with Discovery Insure and the information should be updated as such. I am very disappointed as my premiums are paid religiously every month and to receive this kind of service is ABSOLUTLEY SHOCKING!!!!!! We have called them numerous times to follow up with our claim, we are still awaiting a response from them. We phoned the assessor and he keeps dodging my calls I URGE YOU PEOPLE TO RECONSIDER INSURING ANYTHING WITH DISCOVERY INSURE AS THEY ARE *******S AND JUST ADD A BAD NAME TO SHORT TERM INSURANCE.
