Very bad experience with Dicovery Insure, i am surely taking my business somewhere else

I was knocked over by a drunk driver Saturday (25.01.2020) evening and I told myself not to worry because my so called insurance that promises peace of mind and prides itself in good client service will have my back. Well, it turned out to be nothing a big money making *****. Total cost of damage is R 7 621.19 and Discovery Insure is just willing to pay just over 50% with a very small fraction and the rest must come from me. They say if the accident was not caused by me I pay no excess. I have a witness, a total stranger that saw I was not at fault and willingly gave his number to tell exactly what happened. What more can they be looking for in order for me to prove that I WAS KNOCKED OVER BY A DRUNK DRIVER? I am expected to have R 5000.00 (with courtesy car deposit included) just lying around because I am too wealthy, that is probably why I have insurance because I have money to throw around and some. I thought insurance was to give you peace of mind should the need arise. I was told I will not get my car until I cough out R 3 800.00. I am driving around with a damaged car. What is the use of having insurance and paying full premiums without fail month after month if it is useless when one desperately needs it? Definitely taking my business to probably another *******, but, I'm done with Discovery Insure.
