Useless service and bad attitude
On the 20th of October my wife was in a car accident while I was at work. I received all the sms's and voicemails telling me help is on the way but this is how the whole story really turned out. Response services were so slow that my wife had left the scene after exchanging information with the driver that drove into her, going to the police station to get a case number and no one had arrived. When they did arrive about 2 hours later they towed the wrong vehicle. Discovery informed me that my vehicle is safe and at Auction Nation in Bloemfontein. I called Auction Nation and they had no record of my vehicle, upon arrival at home I see my vehicle is in my garage.. Why is it compulsory to have a tracker BUT Discovery can't even use it? Why do I pay that money monthly then? On Monday the 23rd Discovery calls me to book an assessment of the vehicle which is done, then later that day NetAssess contacts me at 14:45 advising me the car must go for an assessment (This confused me because I already arranged that with Discovery). The woman who I spoke to asked if I could have the car assessed that same afternoon and I agreed to get the ball on the roll. She said she will book me in at Leon's panel beaters and they will know I'm coming. When I got to Leon's panelbeaters they had no idea I was coming but we proceeded anyway, I pointed out a few concerns which the assessor said he would put in the report but never wrote down on the paper. On the 26th of October a call centre agent contacted me and said I must pay an excess, then proceeded to the damage report which I had no idea about as I had not received a copy. I then received a copy and SURPRISE SURPRISE all of my concerns were never noted down. I then filed a complaint (which doesn't work by the way) and was told they waiting for Leon's panelbeaters to reply. They only had received a reply by the 3rd of November and in that time the claim came to a standstill, that same afternoon the claim was then approved. The 7th of November I contacted the call centre to ask when my vehicle must go in to be repaired and the call centre agent said the panelbeaters will call me and advise (with the service I had received I didn't like that response). I called the panelbeaters myself and had to advise Discovery when the car would be going in. Once the vehicle was at the panelbeaters Discovery had no problem reminding me that I am liable still for the excess. I call the call centre the 21 November to ask how far the process of claiming the excess from the other party had gotten (the other party has insurance and all details were given to Discovery) I was advised they started on the 9th of November with retrieving the excess and it takes two weeks. Two weeks would have been on the 23rd of November. I filed another complaint because if I don't phone Discovery nothing happens and yet again the complaint doesn't work. After the complaint I miraculously didn't have to pay the excess. I am now sitting without a Renato vehicle as the rental vehicle had to be back on the first day my car went into the panelbeaters due to Discovery dragging their feet. This is just some of the stuff I went through with this claim, there is lots more I could tell you lots more. I am not happy at all, there are cheaper insurance companies with far better service.
